Animal Messages

The author Ted Andrews,  famous for his books including Animal-Speak and Animal-Wise.  He speaks about totems that we Fear.  He notes that animals that we fear or that create discomfort in us are animals we should study more closely.  These are often some of our most important teachers, animals who show us how to conquer long-standing issues and recurring problems in our life.   Many traditions teach that our fears and doubts will take the form of an animal, and only when we come to terms with those issues does that animal become a powerful ally for us.

For example alligators, is a totem that is known as the challenger who warns of danger.  He teaches us to become defensive and alert, and to stay on guard against attack by someone or something. For example, if your individual who is gifted you want to ensure that you are not too “open.  Some individuals who do healing work fall into this category of being too open and need to find ways of spiritually grounding themselves.

I’m writing this for a friend who has had a panther come across her path.  This is one of my totems (in fact I have been drawn to the panther since I was a child); when I turned 18 I even had her tatooed on my body. Panthers are solitary animals and are quite comfortable by themselves and will feel drawn to other individuals who are likewise.

Panthers are a combination of beauty and utility.  They are very graceful and are fierce hunters.  When a panther is presenting itself to you will will find their greatest power in silence as you pursue your goals.  Anotherwards, you don’t have to reveal too much or speak too much about your pursuits as it can counteract some of the effectiveness.

Female panthers mate only for a short time. Then she will be responsible solely for the rearing of the young, dislike intrusions from the outside.  If you have a Panther as your totem, your most likely have a parenting style that doesn’t like interference from the other parent.

If the panther is presenting itself strongly to you; then you should know you already have the ability to develop clairaudience, to hear the communications of other dimensions and other life forms.  Use your hearing to understand the directions of the sounds.  You will begin connecting with greater depth of visions of your life, of events and people.  It’s not just a psychic insight development, it’s more of an inner knowing.

Of all the panthers, the black panthers has the greatest mysticism.  It is the symbol of feminine, the Dark Mother and the dark of the moon.  Known specifically as the life power of the night.  Humanity has a primitive fear of dark and death but from it comes rebirth.  As it begins to enter your life it should be a signal to you that your awakening  your ~Kundalini~ a signal of time that your about to come into your own power; more so your “Reclaiming One’s True Power”.  (as quoted from Ted Andrews).

The early Jewish commentaries on scriptures says how the man was healed “in the name of Jewsus ben Panther”.
Because of this the panther is a signal of time of rebirth after a period of suffereing and death on some level.  It’s a distinct message that the suffering is over and the old issue is being resolved and it’s time to allow the healing to come.  The healing will reclaim the power that was lost at the time of the wounding.  If you want to keep the message close to you, have a picture or a statue of your totem so your sure to remember the message they are bringing.

Is there an animal guide beckoning to you?  Listen and pay close attention to the message this creature brings.  By allowing ~Nature to become part of your everyday life, you will find a source of balance and much-needed  spiritual strength.  The journey is there for you to take, but will you take the first step to listen to the message ?

  1. I’m actually not surprised at all, it just makes total sense in light of everything going on around me. I just wish she’d stop bruising me… but she surely has my attention again.

    Thanks, LH!
